Village Maintenance Contractor

TEDBURN ST MARY PARISH COUNCIL is seeking quotes from gardening and maintenance contractors for an average of 4 hours a week over a two or three year contact to be negotiated.
Generally the work will comprise of the cutting of grass, hedges, where specified, as well as maintenance of fixtures and fittings, play equipment, benches and other Parish assets. The play surface and footpaths identified for work to be cleared of debris by sweeping or blower and remove any cuttings and waste to be disposed of by you in accordance with statutory requirements. You will need your own equipment to carry out these tasks. The contractor will report to the Parish Clerk. The contract will be paid monthly in arrears. Maintenance
Contract for Tedburn St Mary Parish Council
· The contract is for 4 hours a week, days and times to be agreed.
· The contractor will have appropriate public liability insurance.
· The contractor will have their own appropriate equipment to carry out the work.
· The contractor will dispose of the waste as part of the contract.
· The contractor will liaise with the parish clerk to address maintenance issues as they arise but the regular tasks are outlined below:-
Sweep the noticeboard area in the centre of the village and clean noticeboard exteriors.
Clean bus stops.
Keep the path from the centre of the village to the village hall safe and clear. Weeding by strimming or by hand, no weedkillers to be used.
Weed kerbs on pavements in vicinity of the village shop and bus stops.
Mow a pathway wide enough for pedestrians to use on the grass verge that goes from the chicane on the east side of the village towards the village centre.
Where mowing is carried out the grass should be kept short in order that wildlife (particularly hedgehogs) are not encouraged to inhabit the area only to be exposed when mowing takes place.
Mow and strim verges and cut back hedges in the village as agreed with the council
Week 1 Village grass and Bench Area
Week 2 North Park Road and Southway
Week 3 Grass off School Lane and Play Park surface
Week 4 Notice board area and track towards Village Hall
Clean road signs in village centre and the street sign on North Park Road pointing to Southway.
Sweep play area surface.
Ad hoc maintenance jobs will need to be done, in addition to the above, as they present; such as mending play equipment and fencing.
