Councillors

There are ten members of Tedburn St Mary Parish Council, including the Chair, Cllr Louise Taylor, and the Vice Chair, Cllr Jonathan Putt. 

As well as attending the meetings, the councillors also have designated responsibilities looking after  a variety of things in the parish such as the maintenance of the Millennium Orchard and Play Area, the footpaths and bridleways, planning issues, the cemetery, etc.  

Council Members are elected every four years, at the same time as the District Council elections take place. If a Councillor resigns during their term of office, the Parish Council has a statutory duty to advertise the vacancy and to notify the relevant officer at the District Council that this has been done. Unless ten parishioners request an election, the Parish Council is free to co-opt someone to fill the vacancy

Biography

I have lived in Tedburn since 1981. I worked as a midwife in Exeter until retirement in 2017. I was a community midwife for a number of years but returned to the Maternity Unit to become Matron of the Ante/ Postnatal ward, where I continued to work until I retire. I am married with two sons and two grandsons that attend the village school. I am also on the Recreation Committee, secretary of the drama group and sing with the choir. I am also involved with horses and interested in wildlife and conservation.

 My family moved to Tedburn St Mary in 1973, and I have lived in the village for most of my life


 I married a local farmer and my 4 children attended the local primary. 


 I also run the local history group.

I was born in Devon and I have lived in Tedburn St Mary for the past 6 years.  I have become very passionate about our lovely village and hope to serve the community well.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ON THE COUNCIL. 


Born in Bath, my Husband in Exmouth, we have lived in Tedburn St Mary for nearly 18 years. Prior to settling here, my Husband and I worked and lived all over the world. Our last adventure was in in India as voluteers following the the 2004 Tsunami disaster.

 I Qualified as a nurse In the 1970’s, I worked in various areas, Accident and Emergency, Occupational Health, Teaching, and Elderly Care Management before I specialised in Crisis Management in the Social Care sector along with assisting CQC as a Specialist Advisor.


I hope to be able to act as a good advocate/representative for those who live within The Parish of Tedburn St Mary and especially on Pathfinder Village.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ON THE COUNCIL. . 


I moved to Tedburn during the COVID lockdown at the end of 2020 with my Husband and three cats (we now have 4 cats and a dog).


Previously I have worked as a Technical Manager for a well known property website & software company for 14 years and I have worked in a variety of industries including publishing, housing, retail, education and transport (and others).

 I currently run the Tedburn St Mary Village website 

After moving to Tedburn, we quickly learned that it has a great community and personally witnessed how the people care and will help out when and where needed. Being a Parish Councillor allows me to give back to the community.
